ROEFARO ANNOUNCE $2 MILLION PROJECT TO REDUCE LEAD BY REHABILITATING 190
STRUCTURES
Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. and Utica Mayor David Roefaro
today announced that the City of Utica will receive a $2 million grant as part
of the federal stimulus package, opening a new chapter in the county-city
partnership to reduce lead exposure in the City of Utica by funding efforts to
abate lead in some 190 rental and owner occupied housing units.

Board meeting about a proposed project to improve County Route 840.

’s expanded Lead Primary Prevention program, the Oneida County Health
Department, in conjunction with the Environmental
Education Associates’ Contractor Connections program, is conducting a
series of free instructional courses
for renovators and remodelers to insure their compliance with new Environmental
Protection Agency regulations.

EXCELLUS BLUECROSS BLUESHIELD 'COMMUNITY HEALTH AWARD' FUNDS EXPANSION OF HEPA
VAC LOANER PROGRAM
Oneida
County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. announced today that Excellus BlueCross
BlueShield has presented the Oneida County Health Department with a $1,850
Community Health Award for the Department’s Lead
Primary Prevention program. The grant was used to purchase seven additional
HEPA vacuum cleaners for the program.
